Playdead developed Limbo, a puzzle-platform platform video game. The player throughout the game controls the boy. The boy can jump, run, jump, climb up and down ladders and ropes, and push and pull objects. This is typical for two-dimensional platform games. Limbo features dark greyscale graphics with minimal ambient sounds. This creates a haunting, eerie environment. Many lethal surprises are hidden behind the dark visuals, such as lethal monsters lurking in the shadows or deadly bear traps. Glowing worms attach to the boy’s head, forcing him to travel only one way until they are killed.
