Velma can also lose her glasses in MultiVersus matches
The MultiVersus fighter Warner Interactive is now available to play as the well-known glasses-wearing Velma Dinkley. This character is recognizable by her signature look, including a thick-rimmed pair of glasses and a haircut. As we have seen, the game is full of character-specific moves that you can unleash on your enemies.
Velma’s crawl is one of those concrete moves. This was something Velma, the super-sleuth, did quite a lot during the cartoon’s golden age. She lost her glasses in a scary situation and Velma’s crawl is one such example. As you can see, Player First Games’ developers were very detail-oriented. They went to great lengths to blur the screen of the player when Velma entered her crawl animation.
Although the move of crouching while moving seems to be ineffective, the additional detail of blurring the environment is quite clever. This blurring effect only affects Velma and not other players. Local multiplayer will be available in MultiVersus starting July. It is not yet clear if the blurring effect will also occur during local PvP matches.
Warner Interactive seems to have provided the runway and budget for Player First Games to play in the MultiVersus worlds colliding, which is quite exciting for those looking for a new platform brawler. Some of the other entries to this new, and exhausting genre of fighters have not gone that extra mile. Nickelodeon All-Star brawl was charming but didn’t go far enough to leave a lasting impression. MultiVersus might give players some meaty characters.
