World of Warcraft May Be Collaborating With Mountain Dew Again
It looks like World of Warcraft could be teaming up with Mountain Dew for a new promotion, according to leaked images shared by a fan. Though not yet officially confirmed by Blizzard, these leaks suggest players may soon earn in-game rewards by purchasing Mountain Dew products, similar to past gaming promotions.
Fans of WoW may remember the 2009 collaboration with Mountain Dew, which featured special bottles, cans, sweepstakes, and a memorable commercial with CGI characters battling in a supermarket. Now, rumors of a new promotion have surfaced, thanks to images posted by Reddit user Electronic-Garden-16. The leaks revealed two new Mountain Dew flavors: Citrus Blackberry, featuring WoW characters Xal’atath and Alleria, and Citrus Cherry, showcasing Thrall and the Lich King. Although the user has since deleted their account, Wowhead preserved the images.
If this collaboration becomes a reality, it could follow the format of previous Mountain Dew Gaming Rewards promotions. Players could submit codes from products to earn points, which are then redeemable for physical merchandise, gift cards, or in-game items. However, these promotions typically target U.S. audiences, meaning fans outside the U.S. might not be able to participate.
Some players are already speculating about possible rewards, with many pointing to previously-datamined fel motorcycle mounts as a perfect fit for the rumored Mountain Dew-themed items.
Meanwhile, World of Warcraft is currently running a separate promotion with Trolli gummi worms. Until February 28, 2025, players who buy Trolli products can get in-game items like battle pets or tabard transmogs, with offers also available for Diablo 4, Sea of Thieves, and The Elder Scrolls Online.
Blizzard has yet to confirm the Mountain Dew collaboration, so fans should stay tuned for further announcements.
