Analyst Predicts 4.3 Million Units Sold for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025
Gaming analyst Mat Piscatella predicts that the Nintendo Switch 2 will sell around 4.3 million units in the US in 2025. This estimate assumes the console launches in the first half of the year, possibly by April. Piscatella expects the Switch 2 to account for about one-third of all game console sales in the US, excluding portable PCs like the Steam Deck.
With the launch expected before summer, the Switch 2 could see a boost in sales during Japan’s Golden Week and other global events. However, Piscatella also notes that initial demand may lead to supply constraints, similar to the challenges Nintendo faced with the original Switch and the PS5.
Despite the excitement surrounding the Switch 2, Piscatella predicts the PlayStation 5 will still lead in hardware sales in the US, especially with the release of anticipated games like Grand Theft Auto 6 in 2025. The success of the Switch 2 will depend on factors like its game lineup and hardware performance.
