Global Superpower Galbadia has declared war on Dollet, a nation whose training institution is home to two personalities: Squall Leonhart, the “lone wolf,” and the hot-headed Seifer. To others, Seifer lacks the discipline of his competitor, while Squall lacks team spirit; both are as at odds with one another as their nation is with Galbadia.
Squall’s world is turned upside down by a fortuitous meeting with the free-spirited Rinoa Heartilly; having flourished on discipline, Squall finds the carefree Rinoa fascinating. In addition, he starts having dreams in which he is Laguna Loire, a soldier in the Galbadian army.
