Jar Jar Binks Joins Playable Roster in Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles
Ahead of the release of Star Wars Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles, Aspyr has announced that Jar Jar Binks will be a playable character in the upcoming game. Originally released in 2000, Jedi Power Battles will be re-released with new content, including several additional characters.
In a newly released trailer, players got a look at Jar Jar Binks in action, using a staff to battle enemies. While the character won’t wield a lightsaber or adopt the “Darth Jar Jar” fan theory persona, his signature clumsiness and voice lines are included. Alongside Jar Jar, Aspyr has revealed nine other new characters, including Rodian, Flame Droid, Gungan Guard, and Destroyer Droid, with more to be announced.
The re-release of Jedi Power Battles is set for January 23, and fans can pre-order now to play as the iconic Gungan, among other characters.
