While Obi-Wan Kenobi is streaming on Disney+, Star Wars Episodes: Andor will air later in the year, The Mandalorian series 3 will air early next year, and Ahsoka is currently shooting. There’s no slowing down in the content, but there seems to be a coherent strategy, Favreau explains.

“Having worked at Marvel, I know that plans are essential. But, so much can be learned when the stories are told. There’s so much discovery when you take it from script to screen. I am currently in the editing stage for the next season, The Mandalorian. I have learned more about the characters, so the things I wrote are evolving and changing. The editing room is where you will do your final rewrite. Yes, there is a plan.

But I also know that the key to that plan has a guide. It is essential to navigating the waters between these two places. Remember that I have filmmaker partners that are also writing their scripts. If John Watts’ Skeleton Crew is happening at the same time as mine and Dave Filoni’s Ahsoka are both happening at the same time, those events can impact one another. However, we meet up and plan where it will end. All of us are aiming for the same lighthouse together.

When you think about the amount of Star Wars content coming to us in the next few decades, he certainly has a point. It is vital to connect all the threads to create that rich Star Wars tapestry. Fans can be assured that Favreau, along with his colleagues, has the future in their sights. If the executions of Marvel properties are any indication, Star Wars’ future looks bright.

There isn’t anyone who can say loot boxes are a welcome addition to games. Chance mechanics are frustrating microtransactions. You might not get the cosmetic, weapon, or character you want, even if you spend much money. Fun!

Many countries have implemented stringent laws regarding including loot boxes in games. Yesterday, it was announced that Diablo Immortal would not be released in Belgium or Netherlands. As reported by PCGamesN, 18 European countries have endorsed a report by the Norwegian Consumer Council. It calls for stricter regulations regarding loot boxes.

This report explains why loot box scams are so successful in preying upon gamers. It also focuses on why loot boxes exploit people’s feelings of missing out (FOMO) and the sunk costs fallacy (basically feeling like you should continue spending money, so that money you haven’t spent isn’t wasted).

The NCC then pulls a specific example of FIFA 22 with the TOTY Kylian Mabappe card. To guarantee this card, the NCC calculated that someone would need to open 847 Jumbo Rare Players Packs, which would cost around PS11,478 (or $14,485).

What’s the result of all this? NCC calls for new regulations that include the banning of “deceptive designs to exploit consumers” and removing all loot boxes from games that are likely to be accessed by minors.

The report states that “even though the video game industry is one of the most important entertainment industries, it has often evaded serious regulatory oversight.” “We call for more regulatory action against video games companies that violate consumer rights or prey on consumers’ vulnerabilities.”
