Overwatch to Change McCree’s Name after Namesake’s Workplace Misconduct

Activision-Blizzard’s workplace harassment saga continues, and it’s having a pretty significant impact on one Overwatch character: Jesse McCree. Named after a former employee of Blizzard who was later fired after the company’s workplace culture was sued, the hero was named Jesse McCree. Blizzard announced plans to change the name of the character, which will impact the story’s progression.

The team posted a message on their social media channels stating that McCree’s identity will change and that it will delay the start of the Overwatch narrative that was supposed to begin next month.
