Star Trek: Bridge Crew, a virtual reality adventure video game for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4, was developed by Red Storm Entertainment. You can play as a captain, tactical officer or engineer, and then as a helm officer. Only the captain can display mission objectives. They are responsible for communicating them to the crew and issuing instructions to achieve them. The ship’s direction and travel through the region by impulse or warp drive are controlled by the helm officer.
The tactical officer oversees sensors and weapons. The engineer oversees repairs and power distribution. Except for the captain, each role can be filled by human players or NPCs indirectly controlled by him. There are both randomly generated and story missions. The game was modified by the developers in December 2017, so it could be played without the use of a virtual reality headset. Before that, the game was only compatible with a headset.
