Square Enix released Final Fantasy VII Remake’s sequel just over a week ago. We now know it as Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

This game, which is the second part of a trilogy, is due to be released sometime next winter. We should expect changes in Rebirth in comparison to 1997’s original. Square Enix also released a trailer, and this week, Square Enix managed to trick fans into believing that another teaser was in the works.

Twitter user FFVIINovels posted a picture of a change to the FFVIIRemake title screen. The user wrote “Holy hell, and now this Colour Effect has been added to Final Fantasy VII REmake” The accompanying video showed the red glow surrounding the Buster sword.

Later, the user added, “I’m sharing a PS5 direct upload to prove it isn’t my monitor.” Rebirth has a red logo so fans were excited. But, just 20 minutes later, it was all over when FFVIINovels revealed his toddler had actually created the ‘teaser.

He wrote: “Folks! I’m so sorry. False alarm. False alarm. It turns out that my toddler threw a toy at my television, causing damage and causing a meltdown among the FFVII community. When this toddler is older, I hope they are aware of how they fooled thousands of gamers. It’s a great legacy.
