The main location of the game is located in Yamatai the island also known as Dragon’s Triangle near Japan and begins with Lara and her companions attempting to find the island, which they finally discover.
When they are aboard their vessel the ship is sunk by a storm, they crash on the ship, and they are stranded on the island, but they are surrounded by enemy forces encircling the island. Lara becomes the victim of an insane person and then eventually is liberated. The plot continues to unfold and becomes more bizarre.
