Ryan Reynolds finds it challenging to keep pace with Hugh Jackman’s intense training regime for Deadpool 3.
No doubt many were delighted when Hugh Jackman returned as Wolverine for Deadpool 3. Ryan Reynolds himself has expressed great delight that their two characters (with such a long comic history between them) will finally meet up – although one problem persists… he just can’t keep up with Wolverine’s workout regiment!
Reynolds responded when ET Canada asked about his training for his third outing as Merc with a Mouth by noting: “”I’m trying. Hugh Jackman is such a meticulous trainer; so keeping pace will prove challenging!”
That doesn’t imply Reynolds, 46 years old, is out of shape – rather, Hugh Jackman takes physical preparation very seriously for his roles, eating up to 8 thousand calories daily in preparation of returning as Wolverine character.
Jackman made headlines again when it was revealed in August 2022, sending shockwaves through fans and raising many questions regarding how Wolverine would survive following Logan.
Co-stars then released a joint video where it was confirmed that Logan will not be altered or scrapped and Deadpool 3 will take place either at an alternative point in time, or possibly another timeline altogether following Marvel’s introduction of multiverses.
Jackman will play Wolverine for a second time under an R rating format, since Deadpool 3 was confirmed to maintain the same levels of violence, gore, and profanity following Disney’s acquisition of 21st Century Fox characters.
No matter how it plays out, fans of Wolverine have nothing but excitement at seeing him back for one last adventure – provided Ryan Reynolds can get through his exhaustive training regime before film’s release…
Deadpool 3 will hit theaters worldwide on November 20,2024.
