Starfield boundary reached tensions spark debates on planetary exploration of other games
The majority of hardcore Bethesda RPG gamers who’ve put in many hours of their time in Skyrim as well as the Fallout 4 game cannot wait to see the release date of Starfield.
There are those who have occupied up until the moment arrives by preparing to create modifications to play the game, analyzing statements from the developers on the game’s non-speaking character or figuring on how they’ll be the world’s most famous food-eating pirate.
Unfortunately, some players have been caught up with the many debates about elements of the game that were leaked like the main screen for menus. This latest one includes a fan group debated over whether the game’s exploration of space having limitations could be an advantage.
Are you familiar with the Boundary-centric discourse that’s encircled Starfield?
According to Kotaku previously reported in the week, this controversy that was at issue stemmed from leaks of Starfield gameplay footage that came out on this weekend. These videos seem to show that the planets in Starfield aren’t just open-world areas that gamers can easily explore.
The video in question depicts a 10-minute time lapse of a person walking in the opposite direction. They then receive an alert which states “Boundary crossed. You can open the map and explore other regions, or go back to the vessel.
Some players currently taking part in the game have replied to the discussion saying that the videos leaked do not provide a complete picture of the way exploration is conducted in the game, debates have gone on about how the leaks could contradict an earlier tweet made by Bethesda’s Pete Hines last week.
In a Reddit thread, a few fans are weighing in on the topic by saying that their experience playing games based on space that provide seamless exploration of the planets resulted in them deciding that this would not be a great option to have in Starfield to offer.
“I am aware that some feel apprehensive about the prospect of not being able traverse the entire globe,” wrote user BusinessBeetle in a posting that launched the discussion. It goes on to say: “but, coming from an individual who purchased Star Citizen, it’s not as good as it appears to be.”They added the seamless experience was “impressive” initially however, once “you find that you aren’t worth it with no content” and added: “Going over endless, generally unchanging terrain gets boring. While it’s good to be able to choose to explore the world in StarfieldHowever, to me, it’s not enough to make me want to buy it.”
Others who are part of this thread appear to be on the same page with this, citing similar experiences when it comes to the exploring openness offered by games such as of Elite Dangerous and No Man’s Sky and leading players to believe that they will not lose out on a lot in the event that Starfield breaks up its exploring the planet a little.
