Acquitted is a fast-paced, satirical zombie shooter/hack-and-slash that includes the base building and turret defense elements. It takes place on randomly generated and completely destructible maps. You can choose from 18 different items and weapons to defend yourself against the hundreds upon hundreds of braindead bent on putting you in a cell or digging you to death for refusing to.
They will surround you with various hand weapons, while others will stand back and throw bricks or bottles. They will surround you from all directions, using their mass and sheer numbers to trap you, flank you, create complex paths, and even break down barricades to get to you. They can inflict damage with projectiles and melee weapons, but they also can blind you with poisonous substances. You can control your movements by covering the map in molotov flames and stealing your weapons. Jump kicks will send them flying back at you. Combining several enemy strategies can make the gameplay chaotic and exciting. These are extremely powerful and dangerous, even though they are very few.
Others can grab you and eat your entire body in one bite. While others can bulldoze through walls to destroy your cover and open floodgates to new threats, some can grab and eat all of you at once. They can also be used as meat shields to stop smaller zombies from following them. They are too large to pass through small openings. This gives you many escape options, including barricades. But don’t expect them near doors to let you shoot them. They will seek out larger openings or, failing that,t they will hide behind the cove or circle you menacingly while the smaller zombies ooze into the building to flush them out. They may leave their bodies as obstacles to your path or provide valuable cover.
