Bungie Is Looking at “Major Changes” for Destiny 2’s Power System
Bungie, the developer of Destiny 2, recently announced Lightfall, an upcoming expansion. Bungie also stated in an interview that they are considering significant changes to the Power system. These changes will occur in 2023, and players expect to see “some strange experiments” next year.
Joe Blackburn, the game director, spoke to GamesRadar about how crafting was scary, but Power is “that many times 10”. He says that Power does some good things for the game but that Power is doing some terrible things to Destiny at the moment.
Blackburn did not give any details about what changes to expect. Still, he stated that Bungie would be conducting experiments to help them understand whether they are making the right decisions in the long-term, and listening to the community’s feedback.
He said, “If we’re going to do this overhaul,” “can we have some data before we get there?” You’re seeing systems like Guardian Ranks, which include titles and crafting, coming online. Are we still able to make the necessary changes to the system? Are there still things you can do? Is there a guide?
