Ubisoft Announces Assassin’s Creed Mirage Debut at Ubisoft Forward

It would be difficult to find a mainline Assassin’s Creed title that hasn’t leaked before, and I certainly don’t need to start thinking about this now. Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been rumored in many forms and descriptions. It is Ubisoft’s next title in their long-running open-world action series.

Today, Ubisoft confirmed the title via a tweet and some concept art, which seems to confirm rumors about the game’s return to the Middle East. According to Jason Schreier, a Bloomberg reporter, it is being held in Baghdad.

This image, which was tweeted, shows the protagonist assassin standing in front of Baghdad’s Palace of the Golden Gate. It is a large, round building that housed the caliphal of Baghdad. The rumors were more accurately leaked, confirming that Basim would be the game’s protagonist, whom Assassin’s Creed Valhalla may already recognize.

The game’s stealth-based roots are reminiscent of the early Assassin’s Creed titles. This is what is most exciting. This is likely intentional messaging, as it indicates that the game was inspired by Altair’s first Assassin’s Creed title.

Mirage appeared at one time to be DLC for Assassin Creed Valhalla, which was then expanded into its title. So there could be more connections to Ubisoft’s last major Assassin’s Creed title.

On September 10, at midnight PT, the game will debut at Ubisoft Forward. This presentation is similar to the Nintendo Direct that Ubisoft streams yearly since the pandemic started in 2020.
