FIFA fans, welcome to the new era! EA Sports FC, who parted ways with FIFA back in 2022, has officially unveiled their new branding for the series under the banner of EA Sports FC.

Months of back and forth ensued before EA and FIFA finally parted ways last year. If you’re not familiar with the situation, EA was ultimately costing themselves too much money to maintain FIFA branding. While I don’t necessarily view this as a negative thing – the franchise still dominates sales charts – players would likely welcome an injection of life into their series – which is exactly what has occurred today.

At present, all we have is a brand-new logo which, while simple, looks nice. EA did hint though that the future of EA Sports FC would be unveiled in July – now that sounds exciting!
Nick Wlodyka, brand boss of EA Sports FC, stated in a press release (via Eurogamer), that their franchise would be “a symbol for innovation and change” and they are eager to show fans more about the future in July.” Furthermore, they described themselves as a platform “to create, innovate and grow new football experiences, connecting hundreds of millions of fans through console, mobile, online and esports products”. With such high expectations set for such an ambitious release schedule it appears we should expect more than just your standard annual update from them.”
Are you curious about the design choices behind the new logo? Well, the triangle is an integral element in EA Sports football games – from passing techniques and set plays to player indicator symbols that appear above athletes during matches. As EA explained it: “The triangle shape has been woven into our DNA for decades – from 8-bit isometric angles in our early 8-bit experiences all the way up through modern game polygons that make up every pixel.” See you back here in July for our full debrief? Yeah!
