EA’s Iron Man game will feature open world gameplay, according to job listings published online by EA.
Iron Man may be best-suited to having his own video game out of all of Marvel’s superheroes, making an announcement soon that we would soon receive one based on him will certainly come as welcome news to many gamers! It seems shocking that we have gone this long without getting one with new-gen graphics; hopefully that situation can soon change!
Last September, EA finally confirmed all rumours – EA is currently working on an Iron Man videogame! This third-person single-player action-adventure title will “feature an original narrative that taps into Tony Stark’s complexity, charisma and creative genius while providing players with an experience similar to playing as Iron Man”. Essentially it sounds a lot like Marvel’s Spider-Man but with Tony Stark at its helm; whatever its fate may be no one would complain!
Under development now is an untitled Captain America and Black Panther game; see the teaser here for more.
As The Loadout reports, an apparent job listing confirms this rumor: Narrative Director Stephen Rhodes recently took to Twitter with an open job listing for senior writer at EA Motive: Creating The Next Great Iron Man Story Here At EA Motive!”
Looking at the listing, applicants must demonstrate expertise with open world and non-linear dialogue games; though it would seem strange for this requirement to exist if Iron Man itself weren’t open world, so perhaps we can allow ourselves to get overly-excited without direct confirmation of its content here.
As of September 2022, this game was still in pre-production; therefore it may take quite some time before it hits shelves. Let’s hope the wait will be worth our while!
