Fans Are Worse Than Ever With the Remake Update for ‘Knights Of The Old Republic.
Star Wars enthusiasts have much to look forward to in video games. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is Quantic Dreams’ Star Wars Eclipse title. Amy Hennig’s EA project is also available. You get the idea. AAA options surround us. Despite this, the game that most of us wanted to play was Aspyr’s remake of Knights of The Old Republic.
After months of speculations, Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic was announced less than a year ago. Aspyr released a teaser trailer and announced that the game would be “remade for PlayStation 5”. I bet your Twitter feed was as panicked as mine that day. Since then, we have been waiting anxiously for an update. We now have one. It’s not the best news fans could ever hear.
Jason Schreier of Bloomberg claims that Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic was delayed indefinitely because of disappointment at the development progress. According to the report, a product demo was shown to Lucasfilm and Sony. Both were disappointed.
Jason Minor, the game’s artist director, and Brad Prince, the design director, were fired this month. Bloomberg suggests that Minor may have tweeted about his surprise dismissal, although Minor’s Twitter account is now private.
Bloomberg claimed that Aspyr told employees that the project was on pause. They also stated that they would look for new contracts.
This is terrible news, as the KOTOR remake may never come to fruition. Aspyr was assisted by Saber Interactive, and Aspyr employees speculate that Saber might take complete control of development. Although this is speculation at the moment, it is not what we want to hear.
