Kimberly Brooks Is Supposed to Voice Xivu Arath in Destiny 2
In case you missed it, Xivu Arath, the Hive God of War, now appears to have a voice actor in Destiny 2. According to IMDB (which has since been removed), Kimberly Brooks will voice the character moving forward. Thus far, Xivu Arath has yet to appear in a speaking role.
Born as Xi Ro, one of the three Krill sisters who would eventually become Hive gods, Xivu Arath made her presence felt in Destiny 2 after Beyond Light. As an unseen antagonist in those seasons, she drove the Cabal from their homeworld, killed Osiris’ Ghost, and attempted to defeat Savathun before Queen Mara Sov could remove her Hive Worm.
Characteristically, Xivu Arath has had the least development of all three Hive siblings. Her portrayal thus far has centered around being an uncompromising avatar of war and she’s currently the last remaining Hive god aligned with Witness. We’ll see if future seasons provide her more depth or if her commitment to bringing about The Final Shape remains firm. It was strange that she wasn’t the boss in Lightfall’s Root of Nightmares Raid, but perhaps Bungie has bigger plans for her.
Kimberly Brooks is best known for her voice acting work in television and games, such as Ashley Williams in Mass Effect series, Barbara Gordon in Arkham games, Princess Allura in Voltron: Legendary Defender, Jasper in Steven University and Robin Ayou in Subnautica: Below Zero. She won a BAFTA for Performer in a Supporting Role for Psychonauts 2 too!
Unfortunately, we still don’t know when Xivu Arath will appear in Destiny 2. However, some have speculated she could appear as early as the Season of the Deep which some have suggested could see Guardians returning to Titan.
