Life is Strange is set in the fictional American city of Arcadia Bay, located in Oregon. Max Caulfield is an up-and-coming Mature protagonist in the game.
He returned to his hometown to begin training at Blackwell Academy. He meets his girlfriend Chloe Price again on the spot.
Together they try to solve the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Rachel Amber, another Blackwell student. Max finds out that his ability to manipulate time is already apparent at the start of the story.
This will only be the beginning of strange and inexplicable happenings. Max also discovers that the attacks on the city he sees are somehow related to the attackers.
Life is Strange is the first release that attempts to use and copy the very successful formula for adventure games created by Telltale Studio. These include The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us.
The plot is the main focus of this game, with other gameplay elements such as exploration and interaction with NTC taking a back seat. Like in Telltale, the player has to choose how the protagonist reacts to the events that are happening.
The decisions they make at key points in the story have an impact on the rest of her journey. Life is Strange is unique in that its main character can move forward and backward through time.
It allows for you to try out different scenarios, without going through the episodes multiple times. This is also often a crucial mechanic when solving puzzles.
