Next year, Call of Duty will become a board game alongside Activision and ARCANE WONDERS.
Not content to dominate sales charts alone, the Call of Duty franchise has taken to your tabletop with an official board game.
Arcane Wonders has joined with Activision Publishing, Evolution and Genuine Entertainment in creating the Call of Duty board game to recreate some aspects of its experience in a slightly less chaotic setting (though nothing is guaranteed!). It intends on doing this using traditional board gaming rules while remaining as accurate and authentic as possible while remaining fun for players of any skill level.
As with the PC and console games, players will assume the role of Operators, with different skillsets and weapons for different game modes. Furthermore, team-based play will allow you to experience some of that infamous trash talking when playing online!
Bryan Pope, CEO of Arcane Wonders was overjoyed to join Activision to bring their Call of Duty franchise to tabletop, proclaiming it to be “incredibly exciting”. Being lifelong fans themselves of Call of Duty video games themselves, Bryan worked diligently in translating its scope, stakes and sheer intensity for board gamers new and old alike to enjoy. “Arcane Wonders will look forward to continuing bringing its unmatched fun and competitive frenzy for many more years of enjoyment!”
Arcane Wonders will reveal more details in the near future; for now we know that pre-orders of their board game are scheduled to go on Kickstarter this coming Autumn/Fall with its full release scheduled sometime during 2024.
