Now is your cue to pick up No Man’s Sky again. You can scroll away all you want, but the idea has already been planted in your mind again. There is no escape; resistance will only lead to disappointment.

Since its 2016 launch, Hello Games’ adventure-survival game has been on a remarkable journey – showing what an incredible product can be when devs don’t give up. Despite being designed to allow players to explore an infinite amount of planets, initial critics found the title lacking in content and lacking multiplayer functionality at launch – something no one was pleased about at all. Eventually though, players began flocking back in droves.

Since its release, Hello Games have steadily improved No Man’s Sky into something even greater than anticipated before launch. As IGN reports, the Interceptor update is out now and brings with it a brand-new threat of cosmic proportions: corrupted worlds.
“Worlds have succumbed to corruption, with strange crystals sprouting from the earth and Sentinel guardians twisted into bizarre new forms,” according to IGN’s synopsis. “Explore these purple-hazed worlds for new buildings, crashed interceptors, secret equipment and more!”

On corrupted planets, players will come across huge, warped Sentinels equipped with flamethrowers and explosives – which sound terrifying! However, there’s also plenty of great stuff to discover on these worlds that won’t try to kill you. If you explore enough, plans for customizing Sentinel jetpacks can be discovered; also harvest ‘anomalous crystals’ on corrupted planets to obtain new resources after defeating Sentinels.

Don’t miss out – the update is available free for players across all platforms right now – don’t wait!
