What can be described as the best piece of forward-looking planning I’ve seen Sony has taken the initiative and filed trademarks to mark the PlayStation 6 all the way all the way the PlayStation 10.

It’s true that the PlayStation 5 is only halfway through its existence and it’s clear Sony wants to prefer to stay out of an eventuality where somebody else gets the name rights for its next batch of consoles. This means that you will not claim PS6, PS7, PS8, PS9, or PS10. PS11 could be up to grab if you’re fun. Xbox is where you can do something funny.

We should stress that even though Sony has named these brands but that doesn’t mean it’s in the process of planning for the future five PlayStation consoles. We have no clue what gaming consoles will be like in the next five years or even when the PS10 comes out in 2055.

As stated by Gematsu, Sony typically trademarks the names of consoles long before they are released. Though it didn’t trademark its initial “PS” until 2000, 4 years after it was launched, PS2 and PS3 were trademarked a year prior to their releases. In addition, PS4 was trademarked seven years prior to its release.

We don’t have any idea what’s in store for PlayStation in the coming decades, PlayStation 6 is almost established at this point..

But, court papers that the official government released in the Activision Blizzard fightt that is brewing between Sony and Microsoft indicate a 2027 release date for the future PlayStation.

On the 8th page of the document’s 22 pages on page 8, it’s stated that Sony they claimed that Microsoft was “offered to continue making Activision’s games available on PlayStation only until 2027.”

The report is as follows: “By the time SIE launched the next generation of its PlayStation console (which is likely to occur around [redacted]), it would have lost access to Call of Duty and other Activision titles, making it extremely vulnerable to consumer switching and subsequent degradation in its competitiveness.”

In other words, if we’re going to believe that the PlayStation 6 is coming in 2027, that I’ll enjoy the PlayStation 10 and The Final Of Us Part VIIin an old-fashioned house. I’m only 62 years old, however, I don’t think my age will be good.
