PSA: Ada Has the New Monarch Successor Shader in Destiny 2!
Since Lightfall launched, Ada-1 has taken on an additional role in Destiny 2. She is no longer just the transmog vendor selling old armor sets but now stocks rare shaders from throughout the game’s history. This week her selection includes Vitrified Duality from Season of the Dawn; Tangled Rust from Forsaken; and New Monarchy Succession from Curse of Osiris.
Destiny 2 players may not recall the name New Monarchy, one of three Tower-based factions including Future War Cult and Dead Orbit. Each had its own philosophy about Earth’s future and humanity; early in the game’s development, these groups held “Faction Rallies” where players could pledge and receive gear specific to their faction.
The last time we heard from any of the factions was during Season of the Splicer. Lakshmi, leader of Future War Cult, attempted to incite an uprising against Eliksni refugees in the city but ultimately failed and was killed by Vex. Subsequently, all factions left Tower, likely because Bungie wanted rid of them to clear things up; yet their designated areas still exist within it today.
Faction shaders such as New Monarchy Succession weren’t available in Destiny 2 until Bungie added them to Ada-1’s inventory. Unlike many older shaders in the game, Bright Dust never existed in the Eververse. Now, players who weren’t around during Destiny’s early days — which likely includes most players given its rapid expansion over years — have a chance to acquire them.
Monarchy Succession is available until April 11th for 10,000 Glimmer, just like all of Ada-1’s shaders.
