PSA: Xur is Selling the New Monarchy Armor Set in Destiny 2!
Destiny 2fashionistas rejoice! Xur is currently selling an extremely rare armor set for all three classes in Destiny 2. If you haven’t played since 2017, chances are you haven’t seen the New Monarchy faction’s Sovereign armor, featured in red, gold and white colors inspired by medieval knights. This armor pairs perfectly with many pieces from Iron Banner armor as well as some exotics.
Each piece of gear costs 50 Legendary Shards and 1,000 Glimmer, but once purchased you can transform these armor pieces into ornaments for the transmogrification system. If you prefer a less sci-fi look for your Guardian I suggest taking advantage of these while they’re available. Unfortunately, the armor pieces themselves don’t have great rolls this week with only legs being an exception; players looking for spikey rolls might consider buying the boots which offer +25 to Resilience, +12 to Intellect, and +15 to Strength respectively.
This week you can find Xur in Winding Cove patrol zone of the Eastern Demilitarized Zone (EDZ). He currently has some exotics for sale such as Trinity Ghoul, Gwinsin Vest, One-Eyed Mask and Apothesis Veil; none have particularly good rolls so they may not be worth purchasing unless you need them for your collection. On the contrary though, some weapons Xur is selling are quite good quality; True Prophecy is a 120 RPM (rounds per minute) hand cannon with Overflow and Explosive Payload plus it has reload masterwork and Tactical Mag which make up for slow reload speed; definitely worth picking up if you enjoy 120 RPM hand cannons!
One weapon worth noting is the Seventh Seraph CQC-12 shotgun. A popular option in the Crucible, this roll features Auto-Loading Holster/Snapshot Sights and might be worth buying if you don’t already own any good close range weapons for killing Guardians. Personally, I would pass on everything else as its rolls aren’t ideal for both PVE and PVP purposes. Make sure you grab that New Monarchy armor set – one of Destiny 2’s best looking sets!
