Red Dead Redemption 2’s forthcoming update is finally here – finally the one we’ve all been waiting for!
Red Dead Redemption 2 has finally received the huge update that we’ve all been eagerly awaiting on PC.
Five years after its release in 2019, Red Dead Redemption 2 remains one of Rockstar Games’ most beloved releases. Many fans agree that RDR2 looks better than 99 percent of new games today.
Unfortunately, some players have been unable to enjoy Rockstar’s thrilling western adventure due to a game-breaking bug on PC when launching it with Windows 11.
The bug in question was Windows 11 version update KB5023774, which prevented the game from booting up – effectively breaking it. Instead of providing a patch to address the issue, Microsoft instead advised players to “upgrade to Windows 11, version 22H2”.
Updating Windows 11 to this version would be a fast and effortless fix, but for some players the version they already have may not be ideal for their needs.
According to bleepingcomputer.com, Rockstar Games has discovered a solution so players can finally enjoy Red Dead Redemption 2 when booting up via the launcher on Windows 11.
Rockstar Games has released an update to resolve this problem, with their patch notes stating: “Improvements have been made to the stability of the Rockstar Games Launcher.” Although these notes are vague, hopefully this means that at least some players now experience no longer problems.
If all else fails, upgrading to Windows 11 22H2 might be the only way for some gamers to play Red Dead Redemption 2.
“If you’re interested in upgrading to Windows 11, version 22H2, open Windows Update settings and select Check for updates. When your device is ready, you will see the option to download and install,” Microsoft stated.
