Skyrim Mod adds more unique, lore-friendly racial abilities to Tamriel.
Modders have put in an enormous amount of work to ensure Skyrim continues to develop and expand over the years since it first released.
Many have attempted to alter the game by adding Elden Ring-style headwear, stealthy manoeuvres and cozy homes for redecorating, with some even going so far as replacing Meridia’s beacon with bacon or making Nazeem look beautiful.
If you’re a player who often seeks ways to individualize each of their characters, a new mod might be worth taking a closer look at.
Are you searching for ways to add diversity and charm to your extensive collection of unique Skyrim characters? Look no further!
The mod in question, entitled ‘Mannaz – Integrated Races of Skyrim’, was created by EnaiSiaion and modder EnaiLegion. Some of their previous projects have granted Dragonborn access to an arsenal of throwable spiders as well as becoming Dwemer tonal architects.
This time around, they’ve chosen to drastically revamp the collection of unique abilities and powers given to each race in the game, which can be useful early on but become either too powerful or useless once you reach a high level.
EnaiSion’s replacements are intended to be “more exciting, immersive and fun”, rather than catering solely to specific builds or breaking immersion during low magic playthroughs.
An obvious example of this in action can be seen with Orcs, who possess the ‘Berserker Rage’ ability in the vanilla game, which allows them to take half damage and do double damage for 60 seconds. As such, orcs make ideal warrior races if you plan on using two-handed weapons but may prove ineffective against less aggressive enemies.
The mod replaces this ability with ‘Warstomp,’ which allows orcs to stagger enemies when jumping into combat from a great height, encouraging strategic assault planning and ‘Stronghold Supplies,’ which adds more valuable items to blacksmith inventories on Orcish settlements, making these locations worth visiting more frequently.
Other notable changes from its latest update include ‘Caustic Spit’, an ability that empowers Argonians with tactical venom, ‘Questing Culture’ which grants Bretons three powerful cultural artifacts during their quests, and ‘Shehai’ which allows Redguards to summon a unique floating spirit sword for battle alongside them.
