Tekken 8 Roster: Who Characters Can We Expect?
Predicting the Tekken roster can be tricky, especially after Tekken 7, when many legacy characters such as Lei, Julia, Marduk, Armor King, Ganryu and Anna were released as DLC after launch. With that said, anyone from Tekken’s past could return in Tekken 8. Of course Heihachi Mishima may make a return due to his molten lava bath at the end of Tekken 7.
Though he may no longer be playable, you never know! Bring him back for a dream sequence in story mode or something; NetherRealm did this for The Joker in Injustice 2.
As far as predictions go, only four characters have appeared in all major Tekken games – Paul Pheonix and Nina Williams are confirmed for the roster, while Heihachi unfortunately passed away. That leaves Yoshimitsu, who has been a mainstay of Bandai Namco fighting games for years. Expect him to make an appearance during Tekken 8’s run.
We can look to Tekken 7 usage stats to understand which characters players would most like to see added. Some of the highest played characters online that haven’t yet been announced include Bryan Fury, Armor King, Devil Jin, Dragunov and Feng; plus Fahkumram as a newcomer. Considering Leroy Smith was confirmed for Tekken 8 before even seeing its release date, this could serve as an indicator for some other highly sought after characters to appear.
At present, there is no set release date for Tekken 8, though it will likely release on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X & S in the near future.
