Overview
The Witness is a 3D puzzle video game published and developed by Thekla, Inc. The player, as an unnamed character, investigates an island with many structures and organic formations. The island is approximately broken into eleven areas, organized around a mountain, representing the greatest target for the participant. The areas are distinguished from one another by changes in vegetation, and the mysteries within each area are very similar to one another (e.g., their answers may all require symmetry). Through the island are yellowish boxes home turrets. These could be triggered once the mysteries within the box area have already been solved. When triggered, the turrets appear to glow a light toward the mountain’s surface, suggesting a section of the match is complete. Several such turrets have to get triggered to unlock access into the mountain’s interior and finally get to the game’s ultimate aim. Added puzzles are available if most of the eleven turrets are triggered.
