Things Are Breaking Fast in Destiny 2, Right Now

Destiny 2’s only saving grace may have been auto rifles being bad; since yesterday’s midseason patch update dropped however, all sorts of things have broken in the game and caused major bugs with mods, weapons, subclass abilities, and subclass abilities.

At present, neither Firepower nor Reaper appears to be producing Orbs of Power as implied in text messages from Destiny 2 Lightfall; previous issues had arisen nearer its launch – now fixed – have returned and broken again; additionally, grenade mods no longer work with Strand grapple without prior notification via patch notes, while Ashes to Assets may have also been modified or simply bugged out altogether.

Solar subclasses appear to be experiencing issues. Radiant weapons do not seem to be stunning Barrier champions as intended and grenades don’t generate Firesprites as intended.

Many players have reported being unable to collect the keys to Amanda Holliday’s ship during the final step of the seasonal quest. If you reset your ranking at H.E.L.M., then chances are high that you already got it (even though Ghost Shell was supposed to be included!), thus rendering these players currently incapable of finishing this seasonal challenge.

Recently, Destiny 2 has experienced various issues. The King’s Fall raid appears to be causing crashes, audio rendering as either too loud or too quiet, and players finding no Triumphs available to claim (possibly from earning Guardian Games medal triumphs without even participating yet) flashing in their menu and some encountering discrepancies with Resilience stats causing inconsistencies within gameplay.

Some issues could be considered bugs while others could be intentional changes; in such a situation, if intentional nerfs exist it would have been nice if these had been included as patch notes for updates. We hope Bungie will address Destiny 2 bugs and broken features within their update this week.
