The very first Tomb Raider first came out way back in 1996 on games like the SEGA Saturn, PlayStation and MS-Dos. Since then Lara Croft’s Indiana-Jones-inspired adventures have continued to capture the hearts of gamers over the years.
For a while the fans have been begging for the first Tomb Raider trilogy to be updated for today’s. So, Tomb Raider fans, your wishes have been fulfilled. Today, during the Nintendo Direct in New York, we learned that the first Tomb Raider trilogy is being transformed into a single glorious collection. The remakes will be handled by Aspyr who earlier brought games like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and its sequel on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
“Follow the legendary Lara Croft around the world and battle terrifying foes and disturbing legends. Explore the classics, with updated graphics with the option of switching to the classic appearance at any moment,” reads the description of Tomb Raider II: Remastered..
As evident from the announcement trailer that the games remastered from the collection seem like they’re very true to the original material, while preserving the stunning polygonal visuals. But, it’s also benefiting by a significant improvement in the texture of characters and environments. The game also appears to keep its old-fashioned gameplay as well as a great music, and we could not have it any other way.
Furthermore, gamers are able to toggle instantly between original images and the remastered upgrade. Additionally, the set will include all the previously made available DLC and secrets levels which were initially added to these PC port. The expansions include ‘The Undone business (T omb Raider) The Gold Mask’ ( Tomb Raider II) as well as The Lost Artifact ( Tomb Raider III).
