World of Warcraft’s Dragonflight Season 2 marks another major update for PvP and PvE gamers alike, marking both their start and end dates for this season. Whether you’ve been playing since launch or are considering whether to upgrade, be sure to keep an eye out for these dates!

On March 19th, WOW: Dragonflight kicks off their Season 2 with a brand-new raid and refreshed Mythic+ dungeons, plus the start of an all-new PvP Season.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 2 to Launch Soon

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight’s Season 2 did not have an exact start or end date when it was announced, but Blizzard did indicate that it is expected to begin sometime between summer and spring 2023.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 2 Start Date: May 9, 2023 (NA)/May 10, 2023 (EU)
World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 2 End Date: Sometime during fall 2023 according to GameWatcher estimates (estimations).
In April, the developer confirmed that World of Warcraft: Dragonflight would begin Season 2 during the week of May 9 – likely either May 9 in North America or May 10 in Europe. With it came Patch 10.1, its first major post-launch update.

At present, World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 2 is expected to conclude sometime during fall 2023.

What Can be Expected in Season 2 Content

World of Warcraft’s Season 2 introduces the second raid, located in Zaralek Cavern underground zone.

Aberrus, The Shadowed Crucible transports players into Neltharion’s laboratory where he created Dracthyr and was corrupted by the Old Gods.

On May 9, players will face off against nine bosses, including Scalecommander Sarkareth.

Additionally, new tier sets will be unlocked for each of the MMORPG’s playable classes.

Season 2 marks the launch of both Mythic+ and PvP seasons, with the former continuing the trend of featuring both dungeons from World of Warcraft’s latest expansion as part of a featured rotation that has now been revealed.

  • Brackenhide Hollow
  • Halls of Infusion
  • Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr
  • Neltharus
  • Freehold (Battle for Azeroth)
  • The Underrot (Battle for Azeroth)
  • Vortex Pinnacle (Cataclysm)
  • Neltharion’s Lair (Legion)
  • New seasonal affixes are in development and should be available soon, provided nothing changes in the meantime.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight’s Season 2 offers players the chance to hunt down exclusive rewards between its start and end dates. As with its predecessors, this season offers players a unique experience.

Raiders will likely want to aim for Ahead of the Curve and Cutting Edge achievements, Mythic+ players can strive for Keystone Master, while PvP enthusiasts can compete to win new shiny rewards.

Blizzard has unveiled a host of other changes on the Public Test Realm (PTR), including plans to retire Explosive from Mythic+ dungeons and replace it with Volcanic.

At keystone level 7, periodic affixes (like Afflicted or Incorporeal) will now be added, while those which trigger on death or health ranges (Spiteful, Sanguine) will now be added at level 14 – effectively changing their order.

Over the coming months, Blizzard is likely to provide us with more details, and we’ll be keeping an eye out for them.

That is all the information we currently know about World of Warcraft: Dragonflight’s Season 2 release date and content you can expect. For even more assistance with the expansion, be sure to check out its 2023 roadmap for more details.
