Fallout’s Quick and Dirty Destiny 2: Xur Videos in Praise

I don’t tend to watch too many YouTube videos to get information about games. If I need a guide or explanation of a topic, I prefer to read text rather than watch a YouTube video. YouTube’s push to make longer videos has made YouTube’s guides more complicated. Every week I only watch one video from a Destiny2YouTuber. Fallout is a YouTuber, and this video shows his overview of Xur, the weekend vendor.

You can find information about what Xur has on offer each week at a variety of locations. whereisxur.com has many games outlets and a lot of YouTube channels. Fallout’s videos, however, are pretty different. They are tagged “Xur in One Minute” and provide a quick overview of the Emissary of the Nine stock.

Each Destiny 2Xur Video begins with Fallout listing the featured exotics. He has some fun because most Destiny2players are now familiar with the game’s exotics. This week it was “Cabal meme weapon” (Skyburner’s Oath), “make the most irritating Super in the game even worse” (Raiju’s Harness), “only put it on after popping in PVP” (Eternal Warrior), “if you didn’t wear me on Warpriest you didn’t beat King’s Fall challenge on Day one” (Aeon soul). He doesn’t just talk about memes. He also tells you whether the rolls are worth buying before ending with his signature “like, comment sub, puh-peace.”

It’s an accessible, entertaining format that does what it needs to. These videos don’t detail each Legendary weapon Xur offers or attempt to convince players that bad rolls like Dead Man’s Tale are worth grabbing. Fallout provides a quick, no-nonsense look at Xur. And that’s all most players need. Our in one minute is an excellent alternative to Destiny2YouTube videos, which are too long for engagement and monetization. While I understand content creators trying to make money, it’s nice to see something that gets right to the point.
