GTA Online players don’t anticipate that forthcoming vehicle price changes will help mitigate griefing incidents.

Rockstar announced in its Newswire post about GTA Online’s most contentious vehicles’ pricing changes that they were planning, but some long-time players don’t seem to approve.

GTA veterans’ dissatisfaction over money issues can be seen in an angry thread on GTA Online subreddit started by user PapaXan who posted the list of price changes scheduled to take place starting April 27.
Rockstar has stated that these adjustments are designed to better represent the value of vehicles to players; some vehicles like Brute Armored Boxville and HVY Chernobog had their prices reduced in order to make them more accessible while other, like Pegassi Oppressor Mark Two was made more costly as to account for its outsized utility, performance or powerful weaponry capabilities.
However, many players remain uncertain that these changes, specifically price hikes on vehicles often used by griefers, will have any positive ramifications on the overall playing experience. PapaXan commented on this matter by noting: “This seems more like an attempt at encouraging people to spend money quickly before prices increase two weeks from now. Some changes make sense; others such as Granger or Champion increases don’t. Who exactly are being griefed?”
Other users seemed to agree, with LKincheloe suggesting they make available an unweaponized Traveler bike (for) $2 million so she would understand price changes; CommonCullen added, “I feel bad for all the new players who will constantly get taunted by Mark Two while having to save for an 8 million worth bike of their own. I feel bad.”
IronMark66666 provided an insightful take on how the current state of Los Santos market for newcomers was comparable to real-life boomers who purchased property and invested at exactly the right moment; whilst younger people struggle to obtain these same things.
