An Elden Ring sequel may not be far off as FromSoftware has hinted at more frequent release cycles for their games.

Yesterday, FromSoftware revealed their next game Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon as well as an anticipated release date this year. When released later in 2018, Fires of Rubicon will mark a thrilling mech-shooter series’s comeback after 10 years’ hiatus – though their mech shooters certainly proved popular beforehand! While Armored Core had success prior to 2009 with Demon’s Souls being one of its signature titles; Dark Souls truly transformed FromSoftware as an independent studio.
FromSoftware has maintained an organized release cycle over time, offering games from their various series every two to three years. Elden Ring was last released back in 2022 before Armored Core VI arrived last August; few seem to complain about FromSoftware’s schedule aside from perhaps themselves and TheGamer reported that FromSoftware plans on publishing new titles more regularly going forward.

Eurogamer asked Yasuhiro Kitao, producer of Armored Core VI and Shadow of the Erdtree DLC launch as indicators that his studio might develop multiple titles at once. He responded in the affirmative.
“Over the past 10 years since Miyazaki became president of our company,” stated Kitao, “our philosophy hasn’t really altered that much. We always aim for original content that appeals to players; so nothing much has changed here; multiple titles continue being developed concurrently by multiple teams with releases happening more regularly going forward.”

Shadow of the Erdtree could arrive sooner than we expect as well, according to GamesRadar’s sources who indicate development began for this DLC shortly after launch in February 2022.

At this writing, FromSoftware had yet to announce an exact release date for Shadow of the Erdree but is anticipated sometime during 2018. Meanwhile, in related Elden Ring news a very impressive player managed to beat Malenia, Blade of Miquella with an Elden Ring world-record time!

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will be made available for PC, PlayStation and Xbox on August 25, 2023.

Topics Include Elden Ring, Fromsoftware and Ba.
