Costume, Art & Video Contests at Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest Las Vegas
Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2023 will begin its events series this July 28-29th in Las Vegas and continue in London and Tokyo respectively with Fan Festival UK happening October 21-21st 2023 and Fan Fest Japan happening January 7-8th 2024 respectively – providing both an indicator of impending expansion releases as well as moments to reflect and commemorate for FFXIV community members alike!
As part of Fan Festival 2023 in Las Vegas, Square Enix has offered fans the opportunity to showcase their enthusiasm. Glamoured to Life will serve as the cosplay stage event.
Glamoured to Life will open for entries between April 21, 2023 at 12:00 AM PDT and Friday June 30th 2023 11:59 PM PDT, where players may sign up either individually or as groups. Participants with tickets for Fan Fest Vegas who would like to enter can complete an Entry Submission Form to participate.
Costume Guidelines must also be strictly observed by prospective participants of this event, particularly regarding costumes containing sharpened objects, metal outfits or materials that could cause fires/explosions; basically your real-life Magitek Armor won’t be permitted – for reference here’s the complete list.
Art Contest allows community members to show off their creativity in still form by using screenshots, illustrations and physical handcrafted items as entries in this competition. All submission forms provide digital images for submission purposes – this contest must end by May 31, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. PDT for entries to qualify!
Finaly, there is the Video Contest with its more narrow focus: Entrants must create videos using in-game footage which “showcase your favorite FFXIV class or job and motivate viewers to play it,” as per this category’s guidelines (entrants may enter with one assistant as well). Videos should run between 15 seconds and 30 seconds long so no epic adventures await you here!
All participants in a costume event will receive their choice of an in-game item; only 200 finalists of an art contest and 25 of a video contest receive one; items include Ahriman Choker, Bluebird Earrings, Gaelicap Great Paraserpent Necklaces and Mandragora Chokers; Modern Aesthetics Strife Noble Barding Scarves of Wondrous Wit are among these options.
Strife stands out as an especially effective example of modern aesthetics as there’s currently no other way for Cloud to achieve his signature hairstyle without using Strife’s products.
Art and Video Contest Winners Receive Prizes In addition to receiving in-game items, 12 Art Contest and three Video Contest winners will also be presented with Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker The Art of Resurrection – Among the Stars artbook and mouse pad signed by Creative Director Naoki Yoshida as well as an undisclosed in-game Community Fashion Accessory Item
