Overwatch 2 PVP Beta Patch Notes – May 5, 2022 – Roadhog Gets Massive Buffs

Overwatch 2’s PVP Beta has gotten off to a great start. Players complaining about their weak support have much to look forward to in today’s Overwatch 2 PVP Beta patch. Roadhog feels more fluid after Blizzard upgraded four healers and changed the way Roadhog’s ultimate works. Roadhog’s ult can never be stopped, and he has the option to use his abilities or stop using his scrap gun if necessary. This is a quick overview of what happened in the Overwatch 2 Beta PVP Beta update.

Roadhog’s Ult Is Now ‘Transformational.

Roadhog’s Whole Hog ultimate ability, which is not considered channelled like Cassidy, Reaper, Pharah or Cassidy, is no longer considered channelled. Whole Hog, instead, is a Transform ultimate similar to Genji’s and Winston’s ultimate abilities. You must press Primary Fire to activate the ultimate. Normal abilities can be used during Whole Hog, but you cannot cancel the ultimate. Stuns cannot cancel the ultimate, which is a huge buff because it was too easy for him to interrupt.

Soldier: 76 Hit with Heavy Nerfs

Soldier 76 was too tuned during the PvP beta’s first week. This is fixed with Overwatch 2 PVP Beta patch. The new damage passive, which increased his movement speed by 10%, made him extremely mobile. With the new passive, Blizzard could slow down his Sprint ability.

Soldier 76 is a hero with high damage output who has been for a long time. However, Overwatch 2’s lack of tanks made him feel even more powerful. Blizzard has also made Tactical Visor a more engaging ultimate for players who want a challenge in their aim skills. It adds a headshot multiplier to players who aim accurately at players’ heads during ultimate.

Support Buffs and Other Changes

Some changes were made to boost the viability of heroes like Ana, Baptiste and Brigitte. The most interesting change is Zenyatta’s, who just got a passive. If an enemy flanked him or jumped on top, he was disadvantaged. Snap Kick, his new passive, will allow him to create space and place enemies within his attack range.

The official patch notes contain the complete list of changes. You can find our tier listing here if you’ve been playing Overwatch 2 beta but don’t know what heroes to choose.
