Red Dead Redemption 2 mod offers you an exciting chance to bring some beloved GTA characters into the Wild West!
Although much of the community has already said goodbye to Red Dead Redemption 2’s online component, its single-player experience remains worth exploring thanks to modders.
Rockstar’s western universe can be enhanced with captivating works, such as those that let you live the life of a wild west hitman, become an expert metal detectorist or pan for precious metals like an actual prospector still visiting Nexus every few months. There are plenty of ways to add some flair and spice up this iconic franchise!
If you’re a cowboy fanatic who also appreciates the GTA series, an updated mod that replaces several NPCs from Red Dead with recognisable criminals may be worth adding to your load order.
Do you hope to run into some familiar faces from GTA as you roam the open spaces of RDR2?
This mod, entitled ‘Rockstar Protagonists – Red Harlow, Niko Bellic, Trevor Philips and more’ was created by modder thegoodmerchant and adds a new poncho to the game as well as altering the appearances of all Van Der Linde gang members.
This time around, they’ve given you the option to customize some of the NPCs you’ll encounter while exploring semi-tamed frontier with models inspired by GTA characters such as Trevor Philips, Niko Bellic and Tommy Vercetti.
Some of these notorious criminals even seem to come with multiple outfit options for you to select from, as if they have been given swap-in potions that ensure they blend in nicely – with one merchant quagging: “Think of them as the great, great grandfathers of the protagonists you know and love”.
KristianD3’s ‘Red Harlow’ can also be included, giving us the protagonist from Red Dead Revolver who should fit right in if Johnny Klebitz from The Lost and Damned struggles to fill in for pre-epilogue John Marston or Trevor’s moustache doesn’t quite convince as Micah Bell.
If you want to give this mod a shot, it appears you’ll need RDR2’s Script Hook, LMS’ ‘Lenny’s Mod Loader’, EnergiDaan’s ‘Online Content Unlocker’ and Rampage as your trainer.
