‘Skyrim’ Co-op Multiplayer Is Being Overhauled
The best thing about spending hours in a Skyrim hole is being able to share it with your friends. You’ll probably know that this was not a feature offered by developer Bethesda at launch. However, it has been modified by fans using the excellent Skyrim Together.
Skyrim Together has been a popular mod for the game. It adds co-op multiplayer to allow you to enjoy Nord’s frozen landscapes with your chums. Lovely.
The mod has been available for some time now, and an update called Skyrim Together reborn is just a few days away. It will be available on July 8th and include the full version 1.0 of the mod, as PCGamesN noted. You can see the complete list of features here. Some highlights include fully synced NPCs, quests and inventory so that the experience is as seamless as possible.
It’s also nice that if a member of your group dies, they will respawn near you instead of loading an old save. This makes it much easier to navigate the world. Below is a video that shows some of the changes with five players.
One tiny, very small, and a very unwelcome bit of bad news is that the Flashback Together mod, which was being developed by the same team, has been placed on hold while Skyrim Together is finished. It’s not the end of the universe, but it will mean that there will be a long wait for those who want to explore the wilderness with their friends. If you are looking for a similar experience, I recommend a day trip from Stoke.
