The University Segment is halted by A Last of Us Part 1 Glitch
While I have not had to deal with many bugs or slow down progress in Naughty Dog games over the years, I encountered one issue during my playtime of the Last of Us Part 1. It prevented me from progressing through the University of Eastern Colorado section. But I found a solution that should help you if you encounter it.
The last of us, Part I, asks you to plug in a cord to a generator to allow Ellie (the horse) and Callus (the attendant) to pass through a gate. The prompt to pick the cable disappeared as I approached it, even though I was trying to complete the segment alone. As you can see, I tried several saves before finally giving up.

Thanks to The last of us, Part I’s accessibility features, I made some progress. Navigate to the options menu and click accessibility. You’ll find the “Skip Puzzle Option” at the bottom of your menu. This will let you cut to the puzzle’s end. If you are stuck in a mystery, the option will be available at the top of the standard pause menu. This will allow you to skip the prompt if you run into the same bug in the University section.
