Xbox documents reveal The Elder Scrolls 6 release.
I hope Skyrim didn’t leave you completely disenchanted as we may still be waiting ten years later for its successor! With that being said, many experts predict a potential release date could still be several years off; which makes for exciting times ahead for Elder Scrolls fans!
Development of games takes an incredible amount of work – no doubt about that – but creating massive titles takes even longer, which means we should expect The Elder Scrolls VI will come sometime after several more years have gone by. Hearing just how long might be needed was certainly surprising and should come as news to all fans eagerly waiting on its arrival.
As IGN reports, an amended complaint in a lawsuit brought against Microsoft’s plans to acquire Activision Blizzard has made reference to an unknown “forthcoming title” from an established franchise. For instance, Halo Infinite cost nearly [REDACTED] million to develop and bring to market; other Triple-A games take even longer; one Microsoft executive stated that one forthcoming title from their franchise may require as long as ten years to develop.”
What could it be? According to IGN Executive Editor Ryan McCaffrey’s tweets: “$20 says The Elder Scrolls VI is under consideration here based on Todd Howard confirming with me at that time it was already pre-production & full production (starting late ’23/early 24?) would likely span 10+ years.”
However, this remains pure speculation; the redacted game could be something we have yet to hear anything about. Unfortunately, we could be in for quite an extended wait before finding out any details; don’t hold your breath just yet!
