AeternoBlade II: Devs Condemn PQube Games of Withholding Pays
After Space For the Unbound developers publicly discussed a dispute between publisher PQube Game, another developer came forward to discuss its relationship with the company: AeternoBlade Istudio Corecell.
Corecell posted on its social networks that PQube didn’t pay the full amount for a minimum guarantee in publishing AeternoBlade 2 and it did not pay expected amounts to developers milestones. Although the studio claims that the publishing agreement was terminated in September 2020, Corecell says PQube did not return publishing control for AeternoBlade 2on consoles and has been making a lot of revenue from sales since then.
Corecell refused to work with the publisher. PQube stated that it offered to return publishing rights if the studio didn’t come out publicly about the incident. The team, which is a small studio claims that it was unable to pay the legal fees and Sony and Nintendo have removed the game from European stores. Corecell claims it has not been able to receive any revenue from AeternoBlade’sEuropean sale.
PQube responded to IGN. It stated that it was willing to pay the guarantee but claimed Corecell stopped responding after post-launch meetings determined that AeternoBlade II needed “critical fixes” in order to make it sellable. Corecell released the PC version without consulting PQube. Corecell also stated that they tried to reach a new deal with the studio many times in the past two-years, but were never acknowledged.
