Call of Duty’s new game release marks an ambitious shift.
“Greetings everyone! A new Call of Duty game has just released, although this may not have been your top pick.
Activision and Arcane Wonders, Genuine Entertainment and Evolution have joined forces to produce Call of Duty: The Board Game. If you listen carefully enough, you might hear most readers leave after hearing this news – though in all seriousness this sounds really cool; I find it fascinating that they managed to adapt such a fast-paced FPS into such an amicable tabletop activity!
Call of Duty fans might find Call of Duty: The Board Game interesting just because of its collectibility alone – its high-quality components will include miniature versions of weapons and soldiers from its iconic franchise.
“We are delighted to partner with Activision to bring their Call of Duty franchise to tabletop gaming,” Bryan Pope, lead designer for Call of Duty: The Board Game and CEO of Arcane Wonders said. As lifelong CoD fans ourselves, our aim was to replicate its scope, stakes, and sheer intensity so fans of both generations of CoD as well as board gamers would love it on game night for years to come! ”
Preorders should go live on Kickstarter this autumn, ahead of a full worldwide release sometime around 2024.
