In most territories, the PlayStation 5’s price is increasing without warning
Due to the “global economic climate,” the PlayStation 5’s price is rising in wide swathes of the globe.
Sony posted on the PlayStation blog that high global inflation rates and “adverse currencies trends” have forced them to raise the price of the PlayStation 5 in selected markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. This price shift will not affect the United States. The price changes will take effect in all regions. However, Japan won’t see an increase in the PS5’s price until September 15. If you live in Japan and want to purchase a PS5 at the original price, you might consider going there.
