MultiVersus Cops out Velma Stops Snitching
Sometimes, fighting game changes are more than balance adjustments and new characters. Sometimes it’s changing a tone-deaf attack, such as MultiVersus had Velma calling the police on her enemies. Velma now recognizes the error in her ways and says “ACAB” instead of calling her Mystery Inc. colleagues.
According to the latest patch notes of Warner Bros. cross-platform fighter, Velma’s ability to call the cops that summoned a car onto the stage that could capture or drive enemies out has been modified so she can now call the Mystery Machine, also known as the Mystery Inc. van.
You can see the original ability in the video below.
TheGamer explains that Velma’s ability to call the cops has caused division in the MultiVersus community ever since launch. This is because the public awareness of police brutality toward Black Americans in America is at an all-time high. On principle, some players chose not to play the Scooby Doocharacter. Now that Velma calls the Mystery Inc. crew, it seems like a massive boost for the character and the entire game. This is the updated version:
More Multi than

multiverse is full of references and little nods to the history of its fighters, Velma included. The whole screen blurs as Velma crouches down and begins looking for her glasses. It’s great that the game is trying to maintain a fun atmosphere without being too detached from the wider world.
