PlayStation Plus subscribers looking forward to May 2023 should expect an exciting, big-budget free game release.
Just days away from finding out the contents of May’s PlayStation Plus Essential Tier line-up, and according to this latest rumor it could feature an essential release that’s certain to please subscribers.
Current Essential Tier subscribers have access to Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Tails of Iron and day one release Meet Your Maker; with Sackboy available alongside free DLC on PlayStation Store for Sackboy! Extra and premium Tier subscribers have their pick from 16 new games with Kena: Bridge of Spirits being the highlight. And with day one releases coming to both extra tier and essential tier in May it seems likely another release could soon make its debut on essential.
ComicBook reported that Age of Wonders 4 could make its PlayStation Plus debut as a day one release, though this theory should be taken with caution and should only be taken as speculation. ComicBook pointed out that its release is scheduled for 2 May – coincidentally also when PS Plus should start offering their May essential tier line-up downloads – suggesting this might just be coincidence but we are seeing them upping their game when it comes to day one releases.
Age of Wonders 4 will launch simultaneously for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5, making it a new-gen exclusive. According to its official synopsis: “Powerful Wizard Kings have returned from exile to reign as gods among mortals – claim and master the Tomes of Magic to develop your people, prepare for an epic battle that will decide the course of time, explore magical realms using Age of Wonders’ signature blend of 4X strategy and turn-based tactical combat and claim victory! ”
